Dog-friendly beaches

Dogs are welcome all year round at two beaches along the coast:

  • Vantamansvägen beach (near southern Äspet)
  • Ålakustvägen beach (near Gropahålet)

These dog-friendly beach areas are around 100 metres long and clearly signposted. The paths from the parking areas down to the beaches are marked with yellow on trees or posts.

At Yngsjö beach (between Flisvägen and Funkvägen), dogs are allowed during the summer season (May 15– September 15) between 8:00 pm and 8:00 am.

At all other beaches, inland bathing areas and beaches within nature reserves, dogs are not permitted between May 15 and September 15. During the rest of the year, dogs are welcome at all public bathing areas.

Parking

Our beaches are especially popular during summer and autumn — something we’re very happy about! To make sure everyone has a safe and enjoyable visit, please park only in designated parking areas.

Parking illegally can have serious consequences. By following parking regulations, you help ensure that emergency vehicles can always get through and that the natural surroundings remain protected.

Please keep the following in mind when parking:

  • Always park within marked parking areas.
  • Leave enough space for emergency vehicles and other cars to pass.
  • Never park along narrow gravel roads or in passing places — traffic must be able to get through.
  • Help us protect nature by never parking on grass, sand dunes or in protected natural areas.
  • Follow parking time limits. If there is no time stated on the parking sign, you may park for up to 24 hours.
  • Most parking areas near the beaches do not allow camping or overnight stays.
  • Please show consideration for others during busy periods, when both the beaches and parking areas may become crowded.
